pla.NET.gr uses speed and reliable web and email servers with high availability that reaches 99,99%. Our servers are hosted in a Greek datacenter and run on Linux platforms, which make them even more trustworthy since Linux is considered to be a far more stable operating system than Windows.
Nevertheless, we are sorry to admit that we cannot guarantee the rest 0,01% of the server's availability but please do not forget that there is always a slight chance that machines face a problem. What we can assure you of is that our systems are monitored in a 24/7 basis and in case a downtime occurs in a web or email server, our technicians will respond immediately to solve the problem.

The domain name registration and renewal are low-cost and relatively simple services. Even so, our company differentiates itself from other companies that offer the same services.
If you do not have a domain name and wish to register one, we will gladly help you out choose the most appropriate domain name for each case without any additional cost.
If you already have a domain name but feel frustrated from your domain’s administrator who does not respect the ownership of the domain name, just transfer the domain to us and ease yourselves from similar situations. At pla.NET.gr we guarantee that you will never face problems regarding the administration of your domain since we are fully aware and strongly support that the ownership of a domain name is not negotiable and that the administrator is only entitled to manage the domain according to the wishes of its owner.
If you wish to change DNS Server because you just moved your website or emails to another server and your domain name administration is covered by pla.NET.gr, you will receive immediate service since our technicians will be available at short notice to perform the required special settings in order to correctly redirect the domain names to the servers depending on the service (web, email, etc.).
By transferring the administration of your domain names to us, you will not need to worry about their expiry date as we undertake to inform you on time so that they are renewed on the spot avoiding any extra charges that would occur if not dealt in good time.
pla.NET.gr and Google email servers support two email protocols: POP and IMAP. This overview will help you decide which email protocol is best suited for your needs.
The email protocol you choose will determine where your email is stored-on the server or on your computer. When configuring an email client, such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird, you should choose an email protocol that best suits your needs.
IMAP is recommended for most people. IMAP keeps your email on the mail server so you can access it from multiple locations and with multiple email clients. For example, you can see the same email at home and at work. Likewise, you can see it in Ms Outlook, webmail, and your mobile device.
IMAP is not suited to offline use. If you need to see your email when you are offline (i.e. not connected to the internet), you should consider using POP instead.
POP is recommended only for people who need to access their email offline. If you need to connect to the internet, download your email, and then disconnect, POP is a good choice for you. However, POP has a few important limitations of which you should be aware.
POP stores your email on your computer in your email client (i.e. Outlook, Thunderbird, or whatever application you use to check email). When you check email, it is downloaded to your email client and removed from the mail server. This is why you can read your email when you're offline - because the email is actually on your computer you don't need an internet connection to see it.
With POP, you cannot see email you previously received when you use other computers or other email clients, including webmail and mobile devices. If you receive an email message at home using Outlook configured for POP, you won't have access to that same message when you go to work. Likewise, you won't be able to see it in Ms Outlook, webmail or any other application.
Sze-jun Tsai a Google Help Center guru has a good post on the official Gmail blog about some of the differences between the supported email protocols offered with your Gmail account, IMAP (Internet Mail Access Protocol) and POP (Post Office Protocol) , which is worth to read it.
1. If this is the first time you are opening Microsoft Outlook 2007, the setup wizard should launch automatically.
If this is the case, skip to step 2. Otherwise, from the Outlook home screen select "Tools > Account Settings".

E-mail Address: Enter your e-mail address.
Account Type: Select POP3 or IMAP (POP3 will download mail off the server, IMAP keeps the folder structure in sync with webmail).
Incoming mail server: Enter mail.yourdomain.com for your incoming mail server (incoming mail server) (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name).
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Enter mail.yourdomain.com for your outgoing mail server (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name).

Port 587 is the alternate for (blocked) port 25.
On the "Advanced" tab, change port 25 to 587, if your ISP blocks port 25.
It is the alternate port that pla.NET.gr apparently makes available, just for that case.

3. Click on "Add Account...".
4. Select "Other".
5. Fill in the fields...

Incoming Mail Server
Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name)
Username: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (the email address you're accessing)
Password: Password for the email address.
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)
Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name)
Username: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. (the email address you're accessing)
Password: Password for the email address.
At this point, click "Save" at the top and it should automatically detect the rest of your settings and connect to your mailbox. In the event that it doesn't work, you might want to check your accounts "Advanced" settings and make sure they look like this:
So you just picked up a new iPhone 3G and want to get your email set up on it? Cool! Below are instructions for doing just this!
It's a pretty easy process but part of the process can be daunting to new users, especially because there's probably going to be some warnings that pop-up that can trip you up. Here's how to get everything set up and running perfectly, though.
1. First just click the "Settings" button located on your iPhone home screen, seen below.
2. From there you'll see the following screen pop-up. Click the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" option as seen below.
3. On the next screen you'll just need to click the "Add Account" option.
4. You'll then be taken to the screen to select the type of account you'll be setting up. Since pla.NET.gr, unfortunately, is not listed there you'll need to select "Other".
5. This is where you configure the first part of your email setup on the iPhone.
Fill in the fields by entering your information as follows:
Name: Your name, the name you want to display on the receiving end.
Address: Your email address. This is the address where replies will be sent to and should likely be the same as your username.
Password: Password for the email address.
Description: Description of this account. Enter in anything you'd like to in the Description field. This will identify the email address when listed next to others when you run the Mail application. Something like "pla.NET.gr" or your domain name itself would be fine.
6. The next step is pretty juicy. You get to enter in all of the server-related information which you should make sure you enter carefully! If you don't, it likely won't work as expected and you'll get really confused and wind up having things broken.
• You should probably leave the default setting if IMAP turned on for the account. That's what we are going to provide instructions for because we think it's best for a mobile device.
• The "Host Name" field under the "Incoming Mail Server" section is the first important thing on that page. You'll want to enter the name of your mail server, which is going to be: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name).
• The "User Name" should be the full email address that you're configuring. In this example we would enter in: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. since that's what's listed in the "Address" field near the top of the screen.
• The "Password" field should already be filled in for you, but if it's not just enter the password that's tied to the email address you're setting up.
7. Scroll down a bit so that you now see the "Outgoing Mail Server" options.
8. In the "Host Name" field, you'll want to enter in the same you entered for the Host Name above. Just enter the name of your mail server, which is going to be: mail.yourdomain.com (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name).
9. The "User Name" field should also be the same as you entered above, which is the full email address.
10. The "Password" field should also be the same password that you entered above.
11. At that point you should see the "Save" button in the upper right-hand portion of the screen become selectable. Tap on that.
• You'll probably get a pop-up box saying that Secure Connection Failed. The certificate for (your email address) may not be valid. Go ahead and tap on "Continue". It should then continue verifying the account information.
• After a minute or so you may also receive another pop-up box saying that Secure Connection Failed. The certificate for SMTP:(your email address) may not be valid. Go ahead and tap on "Continue". It should then continue verifying the account information.
12. You should then be taken back to the "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" page and see your new account listed under the "Accounts" section. Great! You're all set!
Checking your email
Now, to check your email, you should just hit the "Home" button on your iPhone 3G and then tap the "Mail", button at the bottom of your home screen to launch the Mail application. The Mail application should then begin checking your email account automatically and you'll soon (depending on whether you're connected to 3G, EDGE, or Wifi) hear a notification hum and see the number of unread messages (if any) appear next to the name of the email account on the list. Tapping that account will open up a new page that displays the folders contained under that address. Tap on the "Inbox" to view all messages there, or tap another folder name to see those messages.
